BE PRODUCTIVE! Our H-J Wealth tips for better productivity
Being busy at work, especially if you’re self-employed or juggling work and family commitments can be both stressful and exhilarating all at once! Whilst it’s great to keep busy and know that you’ve got plenty of work coming in, it can also be hard to keep a balance, and make sure that everything gets done. We’ve put together a list of tips that we find work well in increasing the productivity of the team here at H-J Wealth.
Take downtime, and make the most of it
Don’t be afraid to take time off, spend it with your family, hike up a mountain, take a last minute trip to the seaside, just make sure you turn off your work phone, don’t check your emails, and forget about the office for a day or two. It might sound like a scary concept, but it is worth every minute. You’d be amazed how much more productive a fresh head and a good break will make you.
Keep your work area tidy
There’s nothing worse than a cluttered mind, but a cluttered desk is just as bad. If you can’t organise your work space, how are you supposed to even think about organising your work load?!
Get plenty of sleep
Easier said than done we know, but countless studies have proven that regularly getting a good nights sleep does wonders for your productivity. If you struggle with getting the right amount, consider making one night a week your ‘early night day’ and get yourself to bed early. Even if you can’t fall asleep, read a book or watch a film in bed and make sure you get some chill out time.
Build a great team
If you have a team you can rely on, you’ll find that your productivity levels will always be at a positive level. By building trusting and supportive relationships and making sure staff are well trained and confident in their roles, your workflow is guaranteed to be smooth and consistent.
Make the most of hours spent commuting or travelling for work.
If you spend a lot of time travelling for work, whether it be on the train or in the car, consider scheduling phone meetings to occur during this time. Make sure you think safety first and pull over to answer or place calls and use a hands-free while driving!
